I must thank the Rev. Keith Ratliff, Amarillo Texas, for his prayers who have prayed with me almost every day and he himself needs prayer because he has an infected broken foot and we were praying back and forth on that instant messenger, and on the phone. So congregation we need some prayers for Keith.
Dear Gracious Heavenly Father, Creator of all good things and redeemer of this world, please send your grace upon us and help us to be good and faithful servants. Guide us this day to learn of the works of Your Son Jesus, and to bring your light to all people of the truth. Please teach us to be more like Your Son, and share the love of Your Son, so we can have Your understanding, faith, wisdom, and direction to help others, to become selfless, and to aid and educate through Your word, in the teachings of the Christian life and love. We all come to You this day to worship you, to love you, and to give You praise, what a mighty God You are, we all want to express our love to all others about your Son Jesus. Please cast away all of our fears and misfortunes, and any pains we are suffering, let your Holy Spirit come into each and every parts of our souls, please anoint us as we gather together as our hands are stretched across the oceans in our world assembly. Help us to read or listen to your word, please come upon us O God, change our hearts, open up our minds, open up our eyes, open up our ears, so we can hear and understand, to learn the truth of Your word. Lord we truly want to be more spiritual, we need to be so we can have a better connection and a better relationship, You are our number one concern, if it isnt, it has to be with each and everyone of us today, and not just today but everyday maybe that will be our first lesson we share. Today Father please help me with the teaching about the tricks of the Devil, and what he tries to get away with, and how he can manipulate our brothers and sisters our family and friends. We have to remember what Jobs wife said to him. It was very bad what she said to Him. So my brothers and sisters we are so glad you are all here at so many different time zones but we are all here as one at anytime. Lord help this church, help our congregation, help us to Love You more and to worship You even on any day of the week, any time we may have, walking down the road or driving or just sitting quietly. Thank You for all things and thank You for Your angels and the blessing of the Holy Spirit. It would be a good thing to here about someone who got heavenly anointed in the Spirit, that they had to just lean back in there chair, or someone else that is listening to this message and they get a powerful anointing, that would be an beautiful act of Love for any-one of us. It is what I hope for, and pray for, where people can come and sit on their own or the other pastors or ministers could start reading to the various groups and everyone would get a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquility, we dont need a building, we can be anywhere, to worship You. I pray this prayer from the heart for the entire congregation no matter how far and at what time. In Jesus Name, Amen
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife. And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this? Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present. When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.
Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeastas you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.
I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you." 1Cor. 5:1-13 NIV
The occasion of these words was as follows: In the church of Corinth there was an unhappy person, who had committed such incest, as was not so much as named among the Gentiles, in taking his father's wife; but either on account of his wealth, power, or some such reasons, like many notorious offenders this time in life, he had not been exposed to the censures of the church. Paul, therefore, in his first epistle, severely reprimands them for this neglect of discipline, and commands them, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when they were gathered together, to deliver such a one, whoever he was, to Satan, for the destruction of the flesh, that his Spirit might be saved in the day of the Lord; that is, they should solemnly excommunicate him; which was then commonly attended with some bodily disease. The Corinthians, being obedient to the Apostle, as dear children, no sooner received this reproof, but they submitted to it, and cast the offending party out of the church. But even as they were endeavoring to amend one fault, they unhappily ran into another; and as they formerly had been too mild and careless, so now they behaved towards him with too much severity and resentment. The Apostle, therefore, in this chapter, reproves this, and tells them, that sufficient to the offender's shame, was the punishment which had been inflicted of many: that he had now suffered enough; and that, therefore, lest he should be tempted to say with Cain, My punishment is greater than I can bear; or to use the Apostle's own words, Lest he should be swallowed up with over much sorrow; they ought, now he had given proof of his repentance, to forgive him, to confirm their love towards him, and to restore him in the spirit of meekness; Lest Satan, (to whose buffetings he was now given, by tempting him to despair) should get an advantage over us: and so, by representing you as merciless and cruel, cause that holy name to be blasphemed, by which you are called; for we are not ignorant of his devices: we know very well how many subtle ways he has to draw aside and captivate unguarded unthinking men.
But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him. For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 2Cor. 2:5-11 NKJ
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 1Cor. 5:4-5 NKJ
Thus then, stand the words in relation to the context; but as Satan has many devices, and as his quiver is full of other poisonous darts, besides those which he shoots at us to drive us to despair, I shall, in the following discourse, Briefly observe who we are to understand by Satan. We should point out to you, what are the chief devices he generally makes use of to draw off converts from Christ, and also prescribe some remedies against them. Who are we to be understood by Satan?
The word Satan, in its original signification, meant an adversary; and in its general acceptation, is made use of, to point out to us the chief of the devils who for striving to be as God, was cast down from heaven, and is now permitted, with the rest of his spiritual wickednesses in high places, to walk up and down, seeking whom he may devour. We hear of him immediately after the creation, when in the shape of a serpent, he lay in wait to deceive our first parents. He is called Satan, in the book of Job, where we are told, that when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, Satan also came amongst them. As the scripture also speaketh in the book of Chronicles; and Satan moved David to number the people. In the New Testament he goes under different denominations; sometimes he is called the evil One, because he is evil in himself, and tempts us to evil. Sometimes, the Prince of the power of the air; and, the Spirit that now ruleth in the children of disobedience; because he resides chiefly in the air, and through the whole world: and all that are not born of God, are said to lie in him.
Now there was a day when the sons (the angels) of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan (the adversary and accuser) also came among them.
And the Lord said to Satan, From where did you come? Then Satan answered the Lord, From going to and fro on the earth and from walking up and down on it. Job 1:6-7 AMP
Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 1Pet. 5:8 AMP
How have you fallen from heaven, O light-bringer and daystar, son of the morning! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who weakened and laid low the nations [O blasphemous, satanic king of Babylon!]
And you said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven; I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit upon the mount of assembly in the uttermost north.
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.
Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol (Hades), to the innermost recesses of the pit (the region of the dead).Isa. 14:12-15 AMP
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isa. 14:12-15 NKJ
